Setting Standards for therapy and
healthcare equipment in the UK...
We manufacture to British Safety
Standards, not all other manufacturers, importers and suppliers do. Buying your
equipment from a manufacturer who chooses to meet these regulations
gives you extra assurance.

The
British Safety Standards
- BS3379/BS5852,
in addition to The Furniture & Furnishings Fire
Safety Regulations (S11324, 1989)
set minimum standards of quality and ensure that our
products
meet relevant regulations.
Our high specification couches (where indicated) carry CE approval
and all our
component electronic motors comply with EMC Directives:
EMC Directive 89/336/EØF to standard EN50082-1:97,EN50081-1:92,
EN61000-3-2:95, A1:98, A2:98, A14:00,EN 61000-3 3:95; Low Voltage
Directive 73/23/EØF to standard EN60335-1:94, EN 60742.

We insist
that all our products comply with the Furniture & Furnishings Fire
Safety Regulations S11324. Further quality assurance is endorsed by
our products meeting The British Safety Standards BS3379/5852. We
also ensure that our component electronic motors comply with EMC
Directives.
|
|
·
We only
use the highest grade vinyl covering that is especially chosen for
its
Infection Control
properties. Our medical grade vinyl has an infection proof additive
which is effective at reducing the spread of bacteria such
as E coli and MRSA. |
|
·
We only
use the best quality materials and components to manufacture our
products. Example: we use 1.5mm thickness aluminium and A Grade 9mm
Treated Timber with inserts as opposed to wood screws on our Windsor
Portable Couch. We will not use the cheaper alternatives commonly
used by other manufacturers.
|
|
·
We will
only use materials that have been tested to meet rigorous safety
requirements. Not all companies are so scrupulous. Example: when
we tested an imported brand of portable couch we found it to give
off dangerous levels of toxic fumes from unregulated foam padding.
We also use environmentally friendly materials wherever possible.
Example: Beechwood used on certain models is taken from forests that
have a re-plantation programme in operation.
|
|
·
We aim to
keep our prices as low as possible whilst maintaining high quality.
We will not compromise on quality just to make a quick profit. If
you see companies selling cheaper alternatives ask yourself why?: Companies do this by using the cheapest components
possible and compromising on quality, or by importing products from
abroad which do not comply with any British Safety Standards.
Products sold by third party retailers will have incorporated
two profit mark-ups, both the original manufacturers and the third
party retailer's, which usually means that the product was
manufactured cheaply in the first place in order to absorb two
profit margins. |
|
·
We
concentrate on what we do best. We design and manufacture only
equipment, and tailor make our couches and equipment for each and
every individual customer. We are best placed to respond to customer
needs and offer expert, quality advice to customers. Example:
third party wholesalers/retailers who offer a 'one stop shop' may
stock such a diversity of products that they are purely merchants
selling '˜off the shelf' from warehouses. They do not have specialist
technical knowledge or manufacturing expertise about the
numerous products they buy in and sell on.
