Meditelle's anti-microbial vinyl coverings are suitable for use across a broad spectrum of healthcare applications.

Quality: Conforms to BS5790 part 1 : Type 2: Grade X : 1996 and ISO7617-1 : 2001 Martindale abrasion in excess of 500,000+ rubs. Tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 12947 1, 2, 3, 4.

Please note:- Vinyl has a grained, textured finish. Reproduction of colours on different computer screens may not allow for an exact colour match.

Vinyl Technical Information

All Meditelle vinyl's are suitable for use in high risk Infection Control areas and contain an antimicrobial additive to provide long-lasting effectiveness even after regular cleaning which is proven to be effective against the spread of MRSA, E coli and other bacteria on its surface.

Stain Resistance

All Meditelle Vinyl coated fabrics are hydrophobic and do not absorb water or retain dampness and can be completely dried after washing. Resistant to urine, mild acids/alkalis, drinks and beverages which can be easily wiped off.


Meditelle Contract Grade PVC ensures:

Superior Thermal Stability and additional Resistance to acids & bases (e.g. bleach, cleaning agents, etc.)

Enhanced Lacquer formulation providing better adhesion, abrasion, flexibility and anti-soiling properties.

Improved Antimicrobial Additive formula with increased performance against the spread of bacteria, molds, mildews and yeasts, making the fabric perform better in situations where this is a priority such as healthcare.

Significantly strengthened Backing Cloth cotton yarn elevates strength parameters in all strength tests performed on our fabric.

Improved Plasticiser Barrier on vinyl offers better performance during use. Note: Our vinyl's are phthalate free.

Improved ratio of Stabilisers for PVC & Pigments give better UV resistance to degradation and enables higher performance against sunshine and weather conditions.

Vinyl Quality

Colour tested for: Colour fastness to light to BS EN ISO 105-B02: 2014; Resistance to staining GSR: 4-5 Pass

Strength tested according to BS EN 14465: 2003 and meets requirements of Tensile strength BS EN ISO 13934-1: 2013; Tear strength BS EN ISO 13937-3: 2000; Bursting strength BS EN ISO 13938-2: 1999; Adhesion of finish BS EN ISO 2411:2000

Martindale abrasion tested in excess of 500,000+ rubs to BS EN ISO 5470-2: 2003 and assessed as grade 1, Performance Level A

Antimicrobial and Antibacterial resistance tested for E. Coli , MRSA and Staphylococcus to ISO 22196:2011 standards

Resistance of fabric to deterioration tested to meet ISO 1419: 1995 Method C “Tropical Test” against moisture and elevated temperatures to withstand extreme conditions over a period of 5 years.

Vinyl Flame Retardancy

Inherently flame retardant. Tested in accordance with ISO7617-1: 2001. BS EN1021-1 : 2006 : Part 1 and BS EN1021-2 : 2006 Part 2 (ISO8191-1 : 1987 and ISO8191-2 1988 Modified). IMO Res A 652 (16) EASA.CS25.853  App F. Part 1 (a) (1) (ii ) 

Tested according to BS EN 1021-1 : 2006 Furniture - Assessment of the ignitability of upholstered furniture, Smouldering Cigarette; BS EN 1021-2 : 2006 Furniture - Assessment of the ignitability of upholstered furniture, Match Flame Equivalent and BS 5852 : 2006, Clause 11, Methods of Test for the Assessment of the ignitability of upholstered seating by smouldering and flaming Ignition Sources, using Ignition Source Crib 5.  Meets requirements and complies with BS7176 : 2007+A1:2011 Direct test for medium hazard. (Specification for Resistance to Ignition for Upholstered Furniture for Non-domestic Seating by Testing Composites).

Tested to BS5852 : Part 1 : 1979.  Meets requirements of Schedule 4 & 5, Part 1, of The Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 S.I. 1324

Tested to BS5852 : 2006 Clause 11 : Ignition Source 5, showed Non-ignition and designated as BS5852 : 2006, Rating NI/5. Pass for Crib 5.
